Frequently Asked Questions

Online Security

Steel Works believes strongly in transparency, also when it comes to transactions. Giving you a sense of security and ensuring that all transactions are safe are among our top priorities. After you have entered your payment details and completed the ordering process, your payment data will be received and processed by Stripe. Steel Works Shipping Containers offers you a choice of several safe payment methods through Stripe.

Steel Works also offers the option to pay by invoice. This is because some companies need to receive an invoice before payment can be made. You choose the most appropriate method for your company, which in this case is a direct bank to bank transfer.

For more information on how we use and process personal data, see our Privacy Policy athttps://www.allpurposeshippingcontainers.com/en-us/privacy-policy.

Yes, all order information is processed on secure servers. These secure servers ensure that your credit card details are encrypted and sent to a server at Stripe, which has a separate server for online credit card approvals.

The process is actually no different than when you pay for a meal at a restaurant with your credit card. The URL also begins with https. The current link contains a lock icon that confirms that you are using a secure server. Your credit card is first validated, after which we receive authorization from Stripe. Once this authorization is received, we confirm receipt of your payment. The order is then processed with the delivery method you have selected. The system is extremely safe and your credit card information is encrypted throughout the entire process. Steel Works does not have access to any sensitive payment data. When you enter your payment details on the Steel Works Shipping Containers website, this information is received and processed directly by Stripe. Stripe is fully PCI DSS 3.2 compliant as a Level 1 Service Provider, the most important safety standard in the payment industry.

Our online shop is an encrypted environment. This means that all of your personal data is protected and impossible to access. The software on our website is up to date at all times. Security of the Steel Works Shipping Containers web shop and back-office systems is verified by 3rd parties specialized in online security and malware prevention.

Ordering & Payments

At Steel Works, you can easily pay online – quickly and safely – with the payment method of your choice. We offer payment by credit card: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover through our partner Stripe. You can also pay by invoice: if you choose this option, when you submit your order, we will reserve your containers for five business days, so that you have enough time to make the wire transfer. As soon as your payment has been received, your order will be processed and the containers will be released. Prefer a different payment method than these options? Let us know and we will see whether we can implement this option as well.

If, after placing your order, you want to receive the invoice before the payment can be processed by your financial department, the “Payment by invoice” option is probably the best method for you. In this case, the speed of delivery depends on how fast your bank transfers the amount owed to our bank account.

If you select the “Payment by invoice” option, you will need to make a wire transfer to Steel Works US bank account. Please reference your pro forma invoice number within the wiring instructions.

Sales Tax will be calculated during the checkout process after your shipment address is verified by AvaTax. We currently collect sales tax in the following states: CA, CT, GA, IL, IN, KY, MD, MA, MI, NJ, NY, OH, PA, SC, VT and VA.

If you have a valid tax exemption certificate for containers in one of these states, you can email a PDF copy to info.usa@allpurposeshippingcontainers.com. Please double-check your certificate for correctness and completeness, including your EIN, Steel Works Shipping Containers details, validity date and your signature.

You would be able to purchase without sales tax into the states mentioned above, after we confirm the validity and completeness of your certificate.

If the state of delivery (or pick up) is not in the list of the states above, Sales Tax would be = 0%.

The following steps shall help you to complete your purchase.

  1. If your payment attempt failed, please check if you have sufficient balance on your credit card.
  2. Please contact the bank issuer of your credit card. Banks often automatically block high value transactions to avoid possible issues with fraudulent use of account number for an expensive purchase. If you confirm to the bank that you are the cardholder and you are willing to make this purchase, your transaction will be approved by the bank and you will be able to successfully complete your purchase.
  3. If an option to pay by invoice is a suitable option for you, we advise to choose this option. This allows you 5 working days to complete the payment offline as well as saves you some cash. We are providing a generous discount for this payment method as we can also save on payment fees with this payment method.
  4. If the above steps didn’t resolve the issue, please contact our customer service team at info.usa@allpurposeshippingcontainers.com. It will be easier to help you, if you can provide a screenshot of the error message, a brief description of the steps during which the problem occurred and the payment method used.

Wishing you smooth shopping experience!

About Our Containers

Steel Works Shipping Containers equally sells shipping container for export in the United States. We also have a great focus on storage containers. Sign up to our news letter for shipping container updates.

Used shipping containers have been in use for a while. But this does not mean that they can no longer be used. We repair our containers so that they are both wind and waterproof.

Prefer a container without any signs of use? We recommend considering a new container.

We recommend an even and level surface as this helps the correct alignment of the doors. We also recommend that the containers are placed on dry, hard surfaces such as concrete, asphalt, wooden blocks or gravel.

If you click on the link for the container type in our online shop, you will immediately see the price that you’ll pay. Of course, the price depends on both the size and quality of the container. In our online shop, we offer both new and used 20ft, 40ft and 40ft high cube containers.

You can only choose a color for new containers. Since used containers in the depots are not sorted by color, you cannot select a color for these containers.

The current market situation, involving a shortage of containers and high freight prices for shipping out containers, has caused shipping lines and leasing companies to place large orders with container factories. This development began last year and still continues. The result is that the shipping lines are able to ship more containers. The downside to this is that smaller companies and container traders (such as Steel Works Shipping Containers) have not been able to secure orders from the container factories.

Until now! We have now secured production and expect new 20ft (dry van), 40ft (dry van) and 40ft High Cube containers to arrive in Newark at the end of Q4 2021.

Until that time, please check our website regularly, since we will occasoinally be offering new containers.
